LAKE GEORGE IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT RECOGNIZES DICK WERNER

In making the presentation, LGID chair, Juanita Reed-Boniface cited Dick's joining a group of eight persons who went door to door to Lake George property owners with a petition to approve the establishment of an Improvement District, and serving as spokesperson to the City of Oak Grove to present the case for formation of such a district.

He was one of five original board members appointed by the City to establish policies and procedures for conducting the business of the Improvement District and later duly elected a member of the newly formed board. He was re-elected four times by the property owners , and faithfully discharged the duties of treasurer of the District for 15 years. He announced his retirement from the board effective this month.

In addition, he was an active participant in the Lake George Conservation Club serving on the Board of Directors, and assisting in supplying food and serving supplies for use at the annual picnic at no cost to the Club. He along with his wife Rosie established the prize raffle to raise funds for the club.
