2024 LAKE GEORGE ANNUAL JULY 4TH BOAT PARADE
Among the eight participants, three boats were declared winners: First Place decidedly went to the highly decorated and populated Jochum boat. American flags held by people of all ages were part of the decorations in red, white and blue - PLUS all the enthusiastic riders were wearing patriotic head-gear and waving assorted flags. A large peace flag billowed on the aft side of the boat. They will receive the big traveling trophy, plus a $25 gift certificate. Second Place goes to the boat of Cassie and Jay Edwardson for their “B2 Bomber & Escort” theme, with red, white and blue flags/decorations on their pontoon, plus a pair of riders in the “escort” vehicle: A jet ski with a huge American flag “worn” by enthusiastically cheering riders. They will receive a $25 gift certificate. Third Place Honorable Mention goes to the speedboat captained by Seth and Janine Goettl, along with their junior “commodores,” Emma, Ethan & Noah. In addition to banners festooning their boat, all wore T-shirts embellished by American flags and they enthusiastically waved red, white and blue pinwheels. This year, the judges also awarded a “Valiant Effort” Award to Jackie and Michelle and their children of the “Todd and Terry Crew” on their decorated paddle-wheel craft! Their energetic footwork carried them in the parade for some distance beyond their initial cast-off site! Other participating boats displayed a colorful variety of red/white/blue flags, bunting and wind socks. Fortunately, the rains held off - but only until the end of the parade! Thanks to ALL who participated in this year’s festive boat parade on Lake George!!
